How to make a REAL contribution to charities
With all the charitable organisations out there, how do you choose which ones to support?
Well, my philosophy is to keep it meaningful.
I have always felt the best way is to choose to work with charities you have an affinity with in some way or other. Fundraising organisations that are near and dear to my heart, are the ones to which I am most drawn. These are the ones I support on a more regular basis. For me & my business these include: the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI), Beyond Blue & some specific cancer organisations.
I don't exclude the opportunity to be generous with other organisations as there are so many worthwhile causes, and I feel it's important to add others into the mix occasionally.
With this in mind, yesterday, I had an opportunity to be a part of B'Me Hair Salon's High Tea for the "Love Your Sister" charity. My wonderful client Sara from Me&My Hair invited me to join her at this High Tea. This was such a lovely event, organised by some dedicated local ladies in Brisbane's Northside suburb of North Lakes.
In the spirit of the event Respire was able to set up a table of our products to further add to fundraising efforts by donating a percentage of sales to the cause. Whilst our financial contribution was small, we were honoured to be a part of this event. Below are some pics...
I am looking forward to sharing more fundraising opportunities with you all!
PS- if you're wondering, the dress code was PJ's!!!!!
